Welcome

to White House Farm Kennels & Cattery, situated in the rural village of Askwith just three miles from Otley and Ilkley.

We are a family run kennel established over 30 years ago.  The business has grown by recommendation and word of mouth referral ; early booking is essential.

At White House Farm we make your pet our priority.  We provide a warm, safe and caring environment in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere.  Being a small kennel we have the time to give personal attention,  treating  your pet as one of our own.

Leaving your pet, especially for the first time, is never easy so we welcome you to visit beforehand to chat about any queries you may have.  Please telephone or text 01943 467597 or 07739 977773 to arrange a mutually convenient time.

Kennels

Our kennel block is cosy and heated, each pen having an indoor sleeping area and an outdoor covered run.  All of our kennels are large enough for two medium, or three small dogs.  We also have a couple of bigger kennels to accomodate larger families.

Bedding

We provide plastic beds with comfy vetbed and blankets.  However it is a good idea for you to bring along some of your pet’s own bedding with their familiar smell, which will help them to feel at home.  Favourite toys and chews will also help in the settling process.

Feeding

We feed twice daily, however if your pet requires more or less please let us know and we’re happy to keep to their routine.  If your pet is on a special diet or you would rather they stay on their own food, please bring this with you, clearly marked with name and feeding instructions.

Exercise

Dogs are walked on flexi leads twice daily, in our own fields or along the adjoining quiet country lane, individually or as a family group.  Please ensure your dog is wearing a collar and identity tag.

Vaccinations

All dogs must have up to date vaccinations.  The Kennel Cough vaccination is also required.  Please ask your vet for this as it will not be given along with the routine booster unless you request it.  This is a live vaccine so please allow at least ten days before bringing your dog to the kennels to avoid putting others at risk.

You will be requested to fill out and sign a consent form when you arrive.  Please bring along your dog’s Vaccination Record with you for inspection.

Please make sure your dog’s flea and worming treatments are up to date.

Medication

We are happy to administer medication at no extra cost.  Please ensure all medication is in the prescription packaging labelled with instructions of dosage and time to be given etc.

Should your pet become unwell during their stay and we feel veterinary attention is required we will endeavour to use your own vet.  However if this is not possible for any reason we will use our own vet.  You will be responsible for all vet fees incurred.

Whilst every care and attention is given, your pet/s are boarded at your own risk.  Should injury occur due to your pet’s own behaviour you will be liable for any vet fees incurred.

"We are a family that ADORE our gorgeous pets. We have a Scottish Terrier (11 years old) and a kitten who is 7 months old. We used to hate leaving them when we went away, until we met Helen and her lovely parents at White House Farm in 2007. If you are looking for a great place for your pets to be well looked after and loved just like you love them, then look no further! "

Bedding is provided, however please feel free to bring your own bed or blanket if you wish along with any toys they enjoy.

"I have been bringing my dogs to White House Farm kennels for over 10 years.
They’re always happy to go and always come home very content and looking well.
Couldn’t ask for better"

"My dog Ben was 5 years old when I got him from a rescue centre and was nervous for quite some time. I was apprehensive about him going into kennels. I was lucky to find White House Farm, not too large and family run. Ben has been going for his holidays there now for 8 years, he jumps out of the car and runs up to Helen, always happy. Happy Dog – Happy Owner"

Jan Easthope

"My wife and I have been using White House Farm Kennels for a number of years for every dog we have owned. We have found Helen a true “animal” person and all our dogs have always quite happily gone with her.
We would have no hesitation in recommending White House Farm whether for a weekend or a longer stay (our longest was 6 weeks)."

We have always taken our dogs to White House Farm for years and years because Helen is the best kennel owner we know of and she welcomes our two dogs every time. They absolutely love it there and even when we drop them off they don’t even look back. We can highly recommend White House Farm Kennels and Cattery. Simply “The Best”.
